South Asian Wedding Inspiration with a Modern Twist at Langdon Hall

I first started chatting with Joanne Rehine of June Bloom Events, about planning a South Asian wedding shoot last spring. I had done a few South Asian weddings the previous wedding season and I was excited to see what Joanne’s expert planner and stylist brain thought.

Born in India of South Asian descent but raised in Toronto, Joanne knows how to effortlessly merge aesthetics in a modern, chic way. Our goal was to show couples that it is possible to honour your cultural roots while still playing with current, romantic trends. We used a soft palette of pinks, peaches and golds with accents of raspberry to keep it colourful but still ultra romantic. Strung carnation garlands carefully hung created a ceremony backdrop that references the geometric patterns in South Asian art. We even called in the big guns at Elle Cuisine to put together an aromatic menu of tasty delights and pretty cocktails that paired perfectly with the day we envisioned.

The incredible Langdon Hall served as the backdrop. This shoot, beautifully captured by Jess Imirie Photography, was proudly featured on Wedding Chicks this past summer. Scroll to the end to see all the incredible vendors who participated.
