Victoria + Marc’s Art Gallery of Hamilton Wedding, Hamilton, ON
Victoria + Marc’s wedding was my first ever Art Gallery of Hamilton wedding and it happens to feature one of my all time favourite bouquets. The heart of this design was the gorgeous white king protea with a supporting cast of garden favourites in white, cream, subtle blush and lush greenery. I accented of the flowers with navy blue privet berries and luscious velvet ribbon in two shades of blue. The clean, expansive white walls of the AGH served as a perfect backdrop to let the florals glow. Big thanks to Kayla Potter Photography who did an incredible job capturing the day.
Victoria was one of my most laid-back brides to date. She was the epitome of easy going. Her two big requests were 1. a King Protea and 2. a foliage wall backdrop. King Protea are such a cool statement flowers but truth be told, they’re not for everybody. I think you have to be a pretty confident and self-assured woman to say, “I want that big, spiky yet velvety show stopper!” She trusted that I would keep the overall look uber romantic while still letting the King Protea shine. It was an absolute stroke of luck that my garden was still pushing out Cafe Au Lait dahlias (in November!!) because they were a perfect muted blush accompaniment to the Quicksand roses and O’hara garden roses.
Thank you, Victoria, for trusting me with your flowers! Thank you for letting me build you a foliage wall. I’m so proud of this work and so happy I was able to contribute to your and Marc’s day.
